German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex SE has been commissioned by fellow German company Westfaelisch-Niedersaechsische Energie GmbH & Co KG (WNE) to provide equipment for 82 MW of projects in Germany.
The agreements include the supply and installation of 12 units of the N175/6.X turbines, along with 20 years of servicing, as stated by Nordex on Tuesday.
The turbines, each with a hub height of 179 meters (587 feet), will be deployed across three projects in the Hoxter district of North Rhine-Westphalia. Seven units will be installed at the Dringenberg wind farm, three at Gehrden Ost, and two for the Gehrden Folsen extension project. Construction is expected to commence in mid-2027.
These latest contracts follow WNE’s order for three N175/6.X turbines in March, which marked Nordex's initial sale of these turbines with a hub height of 199 meters. The turbines are specifically designed for low wind conditions.
Since its establishment in 1985, Nordex has installed over 64 GW of wind turbine capacity worldwide. The company recently announced it has secured orders for 1,869 MW of wind turbines in the first quarter of 2026.
