Drilling has commenced for a geothermal heating project in Serock, Poland.
Drilling activities have commenced for a proposed geothermal heating initiative in Serock, located in the Masovian Voivodeship of Poland. The project is being managed by Multiconsult Polska as the Owner’s Engineer, while ALGEO serves as the drilling contractor.

The Serock GT-1 well is being drilled to reach a target depth of 1670 meters, where thermal waters with temperatures around 40-44 ºC are anticipated based on earlier geological studies. This phase of the project aims to assess the characteristics of the thermal waters to determine their suitability for supplying the district heating system, as well as for future recreational and balneological developments.

Serock is among the ten municipalities selected to receive funding for geothermal heating projects in 2024 by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOSiGW) as part of the “Providing access to thermal waters in Poland” program. The investment grant amounts to PLN 13.96 million (approximately USD 3.8 million).
