German reactor enters decommissioning

During the shutdown process, output from the 1392 MWe pressurised water reactor was gradually reduced by the stepwise insertion of the control rods into the reactor core. EnBW said this process - the same as that carried out prior to planned annual maintenance and refuelling outages - went "technically as planned and without any special features".

Gazprom Neft produces its 12-millionth tonne of oil at its Prirazlomnoye field

The 12-millionth tonne of ARCO (Arctic-blend) oil has now been produced and shipped from Gazprom Neft’s Prirazlomnaya offshore platform, delivered by the Kirill Lavrov ice-class shuttle tanker to the Kola Bay, where the Umba storage tanker is harboured, and from where it will be shipped, in standard batches, to Europe.

Daily (02.01.2020): Brent gains 23% in 2019, the best year since 2016

Crude oil prices pulled back on Tuesday, the last trading day in 2019, as U.S. equities fell sharply despite an optimistic economic growth outlook for 2020 following Washington and Beijing lessening trade relations. Brent crude for March delivery fell 67 cents, or 1% to settle at $66.00 a barrel. U.S. WTI crude for February delivery slid 62 cents, or 1% to close at $61.06 a barrel.
