Saudi Arabia intends to build the world's largest CO2 purification and liquefaction plant that would compress and purify about 1,500 tons per day of raw CO2. According to Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) the plant will be based in the Jubail Industrial City while an estimated 500,000 tons of CO2 emissions will be saved each year.

Coal production in Ukraine has reached its pre-crisis levels, has announced Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych yesterday. Coal production has increased by about 15 million tons in comparison to 2009 levels.

Trade body Oil & Gas UK, has recently released a new report according to which investments the North Sea are the highest in the last 30 years and continues to rise. It has revealed that investments in the UK Continental Shelf projects reached little more than £11 billion last year, and this figure is likely to rise by a further £2 billion this year.
