The GHG emissions of Italian companies lower than ever

According to a report offered by Ecoway, the first Italian operator active in the management and in trading of commodity CO2, affirms that last year CO2 emissions were at their lowest level since 2005, the year of entry into effect of the limits imposed by Brussels, arriving at 164 million tons in comparison to 2005 levels, when they amounted to 225 million tons. This result is due to the recession and the economic crisis which has seriously affected the Mediterranean country.

Daily: German year-ahead power contract hits an eight-year low

Brent crude futures traded below $101 a barrel on Monday, hit by a stronger dollar and worries about passive growth in demand for oil in the United States and China. Meanwhile, Brent crude dropped 25 cents at $100.66 a barrel by 02:41 GMT on Monday and U.S. oil slipped 9 cents to $93.60 a barrel.

ENEL to sell its Marcinelle power plant in Belgium to Gazprom

Italy's Enel SpA has decided to sell its Marcinelle power plant in Belgium to Russia's OAO Gazprom, for 227 million euro on a cash and debt free basis, as the biggest Russian company intends to enhance its presence in Europe's power production sector where it supplies 25% of gas requirements.
