Daily: Brent up to its highest level in 10 weeks because of tensions in the Middle East

Brent crude futures were up 13 cents to $105.60 per barrel, after having increased to 106.67 on Monday, the highest level since April, due to increasing worries in the Middle East. Meanwhile U.S. oil dropped 3 cents to $97.74 after beating a nine-month high near $99 a barrel in the previous session.

Poland could generate 6 GW of offshore wind energy by 2025

According to a report released by Ernst & Young for the Polish Wind Energy Association (PWEA), Poland’s economy could improve by almost 17.5 billion euro by 2025 if it expands its offshore wind energy sector to a capacity of 6 GW.

Fluxys is considering taking a stake in TAP project

According to managing director at Fluxys, Walter Peeraer, the Belgian gas network operator is considering taking a share in the Trans Adriatic Pipeline Project. Fluxys may take part to the project if the Shah Deniz consortium decides whether it will carry gas to Italy (TAP) or to Austria (Nabucco WEST). In the case where TAP is selected, it is expected that Fluxys could join the project by August.

Global wind turbines could exceed the threshold of 300 GW this year

World installed wind power has all the chances to exceed 300 GW of capacity this year, the equivalent of 114 nuclear power plants, according to data provided by European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) and the Global Wind Energy Council.
