Bulgaria withdraws from major project with Russia and Greece
Bulgaria's outgoing parliament has voted to abandon a 1 billion euro oil project meant to bring Russian oil to Greece via Bulgaria. A total of 115 lawmakers in the 240-seat legislature voted to scrap a 2007 agreement with Russia and Greece for the 280-kilometre pipeline, while twenty-five lawmakers voted against the move.

It’s official: London Array the largest wind farm in the world
London Array has officially become the world’s biggest operational offshore wind farm. Last week, 141 of the 175 turbines turned to produce power for the first time, providing 507MW of capacity. The project is a joint venture between Danish firm DONG Energy (50%), UK energy giant E.ON (30%) and Abu Dhabi renewable company Masdar (20%).

Daily: European spot power higher on colder weather forecast
Brent crude oil futures dropped in choppy trading on Friday, dragged down by a stronger dollar, while increasing U.S. gasoline futures helped to cap losses. Meanwhile, Brent April crude dropped 30 cents, or 0.27 percent, to settle at $110.85 a barrel, having traded from $109.14 to $111.33, though posting a weekly gain of 40 cents or 0.4 percent.

Centrica, UK’s biggest household energy supplier envisages signing a long-term LNG import deal with U.S. companies, as UK is facing difficulties finding new natural gas supply sources to meet its increasing import demand as global price variations and new gas discoveries are favoring carrying the gas to Asia instead of Europe.

TGC Renewables debuts plans for new solar farm in Cambridgeshire
TGC Renewables, an independent renewable energy project developer, has applied for planning permission for its proposed 13MW solar park in Cambridgeshire, England. The proposed solar farm will see 58 hectares of low-grade agricultural land in the South West of Cambridge holding up to 55,000 PV modules, which will be enough to power about 3,300 homes, while also giving the farm a guaranteed rental income for the next 25 years.
