A French naval defense and energy company has announced its expansion plans for OpenHydro, a tech company developing marine power alternatives. The OpenHydro Company uses turbines located on the seabed to produce power in areas that are known for their strong tides.

Brent and U.S. crude oil futures for February delivery rose 71 cents to settle at $112.42 a barrel and 68 cents to settle at $96.24 a barrel, respectively on Tuesday, being supported by Bank of Japan's plans to launch an economic stimulus effort and further supported by gains in the U.S. stock market.
