Russia’s Nord Stream is likely to reach UK

According to an English newspaper BP was in "secret talks" with Gazprom to develop the twin Nord Stream pipeline to Britain. The BP director for Russia David Peattie has announced that talks were in the initial phase, while the British Prime Minister David Cameron stated that it will support the project.

Spanish renewable energy companies look to South Africa for new opportunities

The Spanish government was forced to suspend their subsidies for renewable energy in January this year, in the attempt to face the current debt crisis. Spain, which is a pioneer in developing renewable energy plants, had come to realize that the subventions were a burden, than assistance. The scheme had already accumulated debts for €24 billion by the end of 2011.
