Norway’s oil and gas output targets for 2012 in doubt

According to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NDP), Europe’s biggest oil producer is expected to miss its oil and gas output target due to interruptions and technical problems. Norwegian oil and gas production fell deeply in September, as various fields were put on care and maintenance, and will likely produce less oil than the expected 1.6 million barrels per day in 2012.

Daily: Brent crude traded lower as November contract expires

Brent crude for November delivery, which is expiring soon, dropped on Tuesday in choppy trading, as U.S. crude oil inventories rose last week and driven down by concerns about faltering economic growth which dragged down prices from a four-week peak above $116 a barrel.

Germany will increase its renewables levy

Germany’s Federal Network Agency Bundesnetzagentur has announced that renewable power subsidies tax for German consumers will increase by 47%, from 3.59 cents per KWh to 5.28 cents per KWh, by 2013.The Government added that it will extend caps on subsidies for solar energy to more technologies including wind and biomass.
