Daily: Brent climbs for the eight straight session near $117
Brent crude climbed for the eighth straight session on Monday to near $117 a barrel following U.S. Federal Reserve’s aggressive measures last week to stimulate the economic growth, but oil prices remained below a four-month high reached on Friday on concerns that high oil prices could undermine the demand in a fragile economy.

France: A new target for CO2 reductions has been proposed
The EU's present target is to cut emissions by 20% below 1990 levels by 2020, but on Friday, the French President Francois Hollande proposed a 40% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and a 60% reduction by 2040, implying the European Union countries, well beyond the 20 % target set for 2020.

Qatargas increases LNG supplies to Japan
Qatargas, the largest producer of natural gas in the world with a production capacity of 42 million tonnes per year of LNG, announced that it has augmented its LNG supplies to Japan by 11 tonnes from the original 9 million tonnes in comparison to the autumn 2011, as a result of the nuclear disaster last year, when Japan had to shut down its entire nuclear energy sector, from which it was dependent for 30%.
