Centrica to invest £1.4billion in UK gas project
Centrica announced it will continue investing £1.4 billion in the Cygnus gas project, one of the North Sea’s biggest discoveries. The company said it would spend the money on its Cygnus gas field in -partnership with GDF Suez of France, creating up to 4,000 new jobs, and adding £ 600 million in tax revenues for the public purse.

IEA: Power generation from renewable sources to increase by more than 40%
According to IEA, wind power will growth considerably in the years to come becoming the second major contributor to global renewable electricity generation after hydro at 16.7%. By 2017 wind power will grow by about 100TWh per year, up 15.6%. Onshore wind power will represent 90% of this increase, jumping from 230 GW to 460GW.

Daily: UK gas declines on weak demand outlook
Brent crude declined below $104 per barrel on Thursday following investors concerns about fuel demand after a set of pessimistic economic data, even if losses were offset by hope for more U.S. stimulus measures to support growth.
