Belarus: AtomStroyExport to build country’s first nuclear power plant
Following an earlier launched tender by Belarus, the Russian Rosatom subsidiary, AtomStroyExport (ASE) was selected to start the construction of a two-unit nuclear power plant at Ostrovetsk in the Grodno region by the end of 2013. This will be the first nuclear power plant in Belarus.

ITALY: CO2 emissions to fall as electricity from renewable sources increase
In the first quarter of 2012, CO2 emissions have decreased, as fossil-fuel based power generation fell by 6.4%.This was possible due to the increased production of renewable energies. Italy is known as the fourth- biggest emitter of CO2 in the EU.

Turkish private companies could import Russian gas from January 2013
Turkish private companies will be authorized to import up to 6 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually from January 1, 2013, with the condition that the companies will have to sign agreements with Russian energy company Gazprom, according to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority(EPDK).
