Spain wind energy reaches 60.5% demand

According to national grid manager REE, Spain’s wind parks provided a record 60.46 percent of demand for power early on Monday, following a windy weekend that pushed wholesale power prices to their lowest levels in more than two years.

EDF to enter the Moroccan wind market

The consortium led by EDF Energies Nouvelle, the renewable arm of the French giant EDF, in association with Mitsui & Co. Ltd, were selected by Morocco’s national electricity office, Office National d’Electricité (ONE) to develop a 150 MW wind farm located to the east of Fes, northern Morocco.

Daily – U.S. crude retains big gains in post settlement trading

U.S. crude oil futures retained big gains in post-settlement trading on Tuesday even if industry data indicated that domestic crude stocks increased 3.4 million barrels previous week, against a forecast in a Reuters poll showing an increase of 1.4 million barrels. By 20:34 GMT, WTi crude oil for May delivery settled at 104.20 dollars a barrel, up 1.27 dollars.

Vattenfall to make a major investment in hydro power
