EU Energy community to benefit from the Third Energy Package

The European Union Third Energy Package was recently approved by the Ministerial Council of the Energy Community relative to the internal electricity and gas market, known also as TEP Decision. Now energy investors across South East Europe will have to act in accordance with this new decision. Following that, Energy Community contracting members have to transpose it into a national law by January 2015.

Daily – NYMEX at 15 weeks high level

NYMEX crude oil futures increased at their utmost levels in 15 weeks on Friday as Italy and Greece were attempting to find the solution for their political and debt problems and on positive U.S. consumer sentiment. U.S. crude oil for December delivery valued 98.99 dollars a barrel, gaining 1.21 dollars, having set the maximum value for a front-month contract since July 26.

OPEC to double spare capacity by 2015

Despite destabilized economic situation around the world, OPEC’s member states spare capacity is likely to double over four years reaching 8 million barrels as shown in its most recent 2011 World Oil Outlook. In 2010, the group’s spare capacity jumped to more than 5 million barrel per day, while decreased to about 4 million barrel per day during the second and the third quarter this year.
