Phoenix Solar AG's Italian subsidiary has won the contract to build a rooftop solar power plant with a peak power of 227 kilowatts in Italy. The photovoltaic plant, which will use Trina and MiaSolé modules, is to be completed and connected to the grid before the end of the year.

Daily – Equity rally sends crude futures higher

Oil prices increased on Thursday on the back of a surge in European equities, a lower dollar, and a recovered risk appetite after euro zone leaders reiterated their commitment to supporting Greece. By 10:12 GMT, Brent crude for October, which expires today, increased by $2.12 cents at $114.52, whilst the November contract increased by $2.15 cents at $111.80. U.S. crude rose 30 cents to $89.21 a barrel.

France to perform safety checks on each of its nuclear plant

Alain Juppe, the French Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and State Minister, during a conference held in Beijing on Tuesday, promised that France will soon perform a nationwide safety checks on each of its nuclear installations, aftermath of Fukushima nuclear disaster, moreover it will cooperate with the IAEA in order to maximize the safety of nuclear facilities.

British Gas to produce green gas from food waste

UK’s major energy provider, British Gas and Bio Group, a renewable energy developer launched a plan to build a power plant of £5 million ($8.1 million) which will convert commercial food waste into renewable gas, enough to cover yearly energy demand of up to 1000 households.
