Shell and Gazprom discuss more LNG supplies to quake-hit Japan

Gazprom and Anglo-Dutch oil major Shell have consolidated their partnership by discussing joint projects in West Siberia and the modalities to increase liquefied natural gas (LNG) deliveries to quake-hit Japan from the Sakhalin-II project, Gazprom said on Tuesday.

TNK-BP plans to sue BP seeking $10 billion in damage

Russia's half of the TNK-BP joint venture intends to take proceedings against BP pretending the giant broke the joint venture's shareholder agreement. According to the sources close to TNK-BP, the company’s management will seek multibillion-dollar damage, equivalent to $10 billion, claiming it lost the opportunity to explore the Russian Arctic because of BP's actions.

Oil prices traded down on Monday on demand worries and profit taking after U.S. crude oil prices hit a 30-month high and Brent prices hit a 32-month high. U.S. crude for May delivery traded at 109.92 dollars, down 2.87 dollars, while Brent crude was traded at 123.98 dollars a barrel, down 2.67 dollars.
