Recent events in Libya have led the United States and other countries to impose sanctions on Libya. Due to these sanctions, a number of U.S. oil trading companies have pulled back from trading crude and refined products in and out of Libya and some large banks have withdrawn their funds.

U.S. crude oil futures traded down on Tuesday following the statement of the Kuwait’s oil minister about the OPEC’s possible increase in oil production to cover any supply deficit that could arise from the Libyan conflict. The U.S. crude for April delivery eased 42 cents to 105.02 dollars a barrel, while the ICE Brent for April delivery edged 2 percent down being traded at 113.06 dollars a barrel.

BG Group has inked a sales agreement with Tokyo Gas, a Japan-based company for the supply of 1.2 million tones of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year for 20 years starting from 2015.
