New Polish LNG terminal planned for 2014.

The building of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Świnoujście, Poland will start at the end of March this year. The project is estimated to cost 2.9 billion polish zlotys and should be put into operation till mid-2014. The terminal should be connected to the transportation system in 2013, with a delay of one year after the terminal became operational from mechanic and technological point of view.

Daily Energy Market Overview, Tuesday, January 25, 2011

The U.S. crude stocks increased more than expected last week. Crude inventories went up by 2.1 million barrels last week as compared to the forecasted increase of 1.2 barrel, according to the Reuters report. According to the API data, U.S. crude futures eased 1.67 dollars to 86.20 dollars a barrel in the post settlement trade.

Lithuanian complains to European Commission against Gazprom’s policy

The Lithuanian Energy Ministry submitted on 25 January an official complaint to the European Commission accusing Gazprom of excess of power and of a monopolistic behavior on the Lithuanian market.
