Siemens Gamesa plans fossil-parity hydrogen from onshore wind by 2030
Renewable energy technology company Siemens Gamesa is targeting renewable hydrogen from onshore wind power at price parity with fossil fuel-derived hydrogen by 2030 in Europe and beyond, and sees production from offshore wind as cost-competitive by 2035, the company said June 9.

Northvolt expands gigafactory plans to 60GWh
Northvolt plans to increase capacity at its gigafactory in Ett, Sweden, to 60GWh, up from an original plan of 40GWh, citing rising demand for its batteries. This would push up Northvolt's total planned European battery production capacity to 150GWh by 2030. The factory is expected to begin partial operations by the end of this year. Northvolt expects to build at least two additional gigafactories in Europe to meet its capacity goals and is exploring the possibility of building one of them in Germany.

Oil prices continued the steady upturn to settle at multi-year highs on Tuesday after the U.S. asserted that the return of the Iranian crude supply would not happen soon even if the United States were to reach a nuclear deal with Iran. The visible global recovery following the coronavirus, with lockdown restrictions loosened in most countries, added to the upside. Hence, Brent crude increased by 15 to settle at $ 72.22 a barrel. U.S. WTI crude rose by 1.2% to $70.05 a barrel.

Norway to test first power cable to Britain from June 15
