Envision Energy has united forces with the UK’s Met Office, the European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) and Aarhus University in establishing a new partnership to advance research in renewable energy forecasting. Parties pledge to work on the new methods and technologies for the fulfillment of the project.

GE Steam Power Systems signed an agreement to offer the main equipment of the conventional island directed to the four nuclear turbines of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Büyükeceli, Turkey. The contract was offered to AAEM Turbine technology LLC, the Saint Petersburg, the joint company headquartered in Russia between Atomenergomash JSC (AEM) and General Electric (GE).

Oil prices fell on Wednesday, pressured by ambiguity over the outcome of an OPEC meeting at which an extension to its price-supporting oil production reductions will be discussed. Brent crude oil declined by 50 cents, or 0.8 percent, to $63.11 a barrel. U.S. crude was 69 cents, or 0.5 percent, lower at $57.30.
