French electricity demand boosted in May 2017 by public transport sector
On Monday, French grid network operator RTE announced in a monthly report about a 0.9% increase in electricity consumption in May, compared with the same period a year ago. The main factors were growing power consumption in the public transport sector and high cooling demand because of warmer weather.

Daily (28.06.2017): Oil prices jumped by around 2% on Tuesday
Oil prices soared for a fourth consecutive session on Tuesday supported by a weaker dollar. Also, short-term financial investors scaled back their net long positions in Brent on the ICE at their lowest level in a year and a half.

EU ministers have reached compromise on 2021 energy saving targets

Wind industry - a new generation of colossal 300m turbines
Wind farm operators are seeking for a new generation of colossal wind turbines, taller than many skyscrapers, as they want to remain profitable after EU cancels subsidies, that have ruled the green industry since the 1990s. The main countries of the EU offshore wind industry - Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and UK - are looking to gradually reduce contributions over the next decade. Subsidies still account for almost 50% of EU wind projects' income.
