Daily: Crude oil prices tumble on economic gloom spread

Crude oil prices tumbled on Wednesday after a short recovery from four-year lows did not succeed to gain ground, as equity markets slumped and economic gloom continued. Brent crude for November delivery, which expires on Thursday, dropped $1.26 to settle at $83.78 a barrel, after trading earlier as low as $83.37, its weakest level since 2010.
