Oil production of five main international oil companies decreased 25% since 2004
Crude oil production of Exxon, BP, Shell, Chevron and Total has fallen by 25.8% over the past twelve years, after beating an historic high in 2004 when total combined crude production reached 10.76 million barrels a day. The production has fallen despite huge growth in their investments, allowed by the significant increase in crude oil prices practiced since late 2000.

Daily: European spot power prices traded higher on the return of colder weather
Brent crude oil futures increased on Friday, pushed up by a strong day in equity markets, recovering after a consecutive six-day decline. Brent crude settled up 52 cents a barrel at $99.65, declining from an intraday high of $100.33.

EDF may erase hopes of new nuclear power plants in UK
The U.K. government is seeking to restore nuclear energy as part of a program to limit its carbon emissions and has been in talks with French state-controlled EDF, the world's largest nuclear operator, to build as many as four new reactors.

Italy now boasts 16.7 GW of grid-connected PV power
Stating to the Italian energy agency Gestore dei Servizi Energetici SpA, Italy’s total solar PV installed capacity reached 16.7GW. As of the end of March, Italy has registered 214 MW of new PV capacity, with the annual cost of the Italian Conto Energia PV incentive programs that stood at €6.6 billion.
