Brent and U.S. crude oil futures decreased on Wednesday after a brief rally as strong increase in crude stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma hub countered data indicating falls in refined products stock and an overall rise in crude inventories that was along with expectations. By 15:05 GMT, ICE Brent crude traded at 125.92 dollars a barrel, losing 30 cents in choppy trading between 125.55 and 126.68 dollars, while WTi crude settled at 106.11 dollars, losing 60 cents after a trading range between 106.03 and 107.02 dollars.

Germany’s biggest utility E.ON has registered the heaviest loss in the company’s history in 2011, being hit hardly last year by German government’s decision to close eight of Germany’s 17 nuclear reactors after the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan.

According to a Spanish biomass association, the country could double its total biomass production this year compared with 2011, despite not achieving full capacity previous year. The country produced about 150,000 t of biomass previous year instead of total capacity of 651,000 t/year.

Crude oil futures increased on Tuesday on rising economic confidence in Germany, a sharp increase in U.S. retail sales and U.S. Federal Reserve statement that will keep low interest rates at least through 2014. NYMEX crude for April delivery valued 106.71 dollars a barrel, gaining 37 cents after having traded between 105.67 and 107.35 dollars, while ICE Brent crude for April delivery traded at 126.22 dollars a barrel, up 88 cents after a trading range from 125.00 to 126.79 dollars.
