Tricastin 1 cleared for ten more years
Unit 1 of the Tricastin nuclear power plant in southern France can operate for a further ten years, the country's nuclear safety regulator, the Autorité de Sûreté Nucléaire (ASN), has decided. It becomes the first French power reactor licensed to operate beyond 40 years.

Portugal's first offshore wind auction aims for more than 1 GW
Portugal's first auction of licenses to build offshore wind farms, set to be launched by year-end, is aimed for projects with a total installed capacity of more than 1 gigawatt (GW), Energy Secretary Ana Fontoura said on Tuesday.

UK stands by offshore oil, gas licensing despite rising tensions over net-zero targets
The UK will still consider offering new offshore oil and gas licenses in the future, energy minister Anne-Marie Trevelyan said June 23, despite rising pressure on the country to ban new exploration in the wake of a landmark report on global carbon emissions by the International Energy Agency.

Anger as UK fails to rule out further North Sea drilling
