Daily (11.12.2020): Brent crude tops $50 for the first time since March amid vaccine optimism
Oil prices surged on Thursday, with Brent crude surpassing $50 a barrel for the first time since March as optimism surrounding Covid-19 vaccine progress lifted the outlook for consumption. Moreover, the oil market was spurred by reports suggesting Chinese demand is exceeding pre-Covid levels. Hence, Brent crude for February delivery rose by $1.39, or 2.8%, to settle at $50.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. WTI crude for January delivery soared by $1.26, or 2.8%, to close at $46.78 a barrel. Both contracts marked their highest settlements since March 4.

Daily (30.10.2020): Oil prices sunk to multi-month lows on Thursday as renewed lockdowns in Europe raised fears of demand deterioration
Crude oil futures tumbled to multi-month lows on Thursday amid mounting COVID-19 cases that resulted in tighter restrictions in Europe, slashing consumption for the black gold. Hence, Brent crude shed by $1.47, or 3.8%, to settle at $37.65 per barrel, the lowest level since May 29. At the same time, U.S. WTI crude fell by $1.22, or 3.3%, to settle at $36.17 a barrel, touching the weakest level since June 1.

Spanish industrial gas burn edges lower in September
Spain's industrial gas consumption remained lower than a year earlier in September, but a sharp rise from August resulted in the the year-on-year deficit shrinking to its narrowest this year.
