Alstom to modernize the Russian electricity transmission and distribution grid
France’s Alstom, a world leader in transport infrastructure, power generation and electrical grid, has entered a 51/49 joint venture with Russia’s Soyuz Holding to manufacture and commercialize high voltage switchgear in order to modernize the Russian electrical grid. This agreement follows the memorandum of understanding signed in 2011.

Vienna: OMV and Gazprom ink South Stream construction deal

French government blesses the General Electric’s bid for Alstom
French government has finally reached an agreement to buy a 20-percent stake in engineering giant Alstom from construction firm Bouygues on Sunday, meeting a condition established by Paris to support a General Electric (GE) deal to purchase Alstom’s energy business for 12.35 billion euros.

French gas tariffs require larger market connection
The calculation of French regulated gas tariffs should be related more strongly to gas market prices since market main player GDF Suez renegotiates more of its supply agreements, as stated by energy regulator CRE in a report published on Wednesday.
