Largest Biomass Gasification plant to be built in Finland
Finland announced the construction of the largest biomass gasification plant with a total capacity of 140 MW running mainly on forest residues for fuel. It will be situated next to a coal fired power plant and is planned to be operational by end of 2012.

One of the largest biomass power plant to be developed in Florida, US
The developers of a 100 MW biomass power plant (GREC), situated in northern Florida, collected a sum of 500 million dollars, necessary to complete the construction of the plant and make it operational by the end of 2013. The plant will be purveyed with clean wood waste such as tops and limbs from harvested trees, urban wood waste and residue from lumber mill operations.

Egypt-Israel pipeline to become operational soon
Egypt ‘s oil ministry declared that the Egyptian pipeline that carries gas to Israel and Jordan is expected to be operational by the end of the week following an explosion on July 4, caused by militants.

First LNG pipeline between Russia and Germany will be completed by the end of the year.
The Nord Stream pipeline, which will pump gas from Russia to Germany, is set to be operational for the fourth quarter of this year.

Statoil halted production at its Njord platform following a gas leak
Norwegian oil giant Statoil announced that it had to halt its production on the Njord platform on Sunday as a result of operational problems with gaskets in a gas export compressor. Later, a gas leak was discovered in one of the risers.
