Daily(10.07.2018): German day-ahead electricity price surged by almost 61% on Monday, supported by bullish carbon, coal and oil futures

Oil prices increased on Monday, with U.S. crude ending a choppy trade higher on expectations for a Canadian production stoppage lasting until September. Brent crude rose by 1.2% to $78.07 a barrel, due to impending sanctions on Iran and falling output in Libya. WTI crude edged 0.1% higher to end at 73.85 a barrel.

Daily (05.07.2018): European carbon prices soared by 2.7% on Wednesday in a strong auction

Oil prices surged on Wednesday, boosted by a threat from an Iranian commander and a decline in U.S. crude inventories for the second consecutive week. Brent crude added $0.48, or 0.6%, to close at $78.24 a barrel. WTI crude traded $0.19, or 0.3%, higher at $74.33 a barrel.

Daily (29.06.2018): European carbon contracts traded 1.6% lower on Thursday after recent gains

Oil supply shortage and higher demand after latest U.S. sanctions contributed to increase in prices on Thursday. Moreover, the draw in U.S. crude stocks also led to the upward evolution in prices. Brent crude soared by 0.3% to $77.85 a barrel, while WTI crude settled around 1% higher at $73.45 a barrel.

Daily(15.06.2018): Carbon prices slumped by 2.6% on Thursday due to late selling

A stronger dollar and a potential decision of the OPEC and its allies to increase production weighed on Brent crude on Thursday, which settled 80 cents, or about 1% lower at $75.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, WTI crude soared by 0.4% to end at $66.89 a barrel, in a catchup process to the higher priced products and Brent values.

Daily (12.06.2018): Carbon prices slumped by 2.1% on Monday on worries about high auction supply

On Monday, oil prices edged slightly higher on optimism over the US – Korea summit’s aftermath between their leaders — Donald Trump and Kim Jonh Un in Singapore. Brent crude futures was stable at $76.46 per barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose by 0.6% to $66.10 a barrel.
