Repsol - new good quality oil discovery in Brazil

Repsol Sinopec Brazil, together with Petrobras and BG Group have made a new oil discovery, Abarè well, in the Carioca area situated in block BM –S-9. First tests have encountered in the carbonate reservoirs, at a depth of 4,830 meters, the presence of good quality oil with a gravity of 28 degrees API.

Huge oil discovery made by Spanish Repsol

The largest Spanish oil company Repsol YPF SA, announced recently that its Argentine YPF SA unit has made the biggest company’s discovery of about 927 million barrels equivalent of shale oil after drilling a dry hole off at the disputed Falkland Islands earlier current year. The shale is located in the northern Patagonia, at the Loma La Lata.

Statoil discloses the size of North Sea oil discovery

Acording to the Statoil estimations, the Aldous and Avaldsnes oil discoveries in the North Sea, could be the country’s largest oil discoveries since the 1980s, which may hold 500 million to 1.2 billion barrels of recoverable oil.
