Several 200 Polish miners blocked trains transporting Russian coal at a border passage in northern Poland to object to the less expensive Russian coal being imported in a moment when local mines are fighting, as declared by the mining union leaders on Wednesday.

Daily: European coal prices boost on Colombian miners’ strike
Crude oil prices dropped on Wednesday, dragged down by pessimistic data from China, with U.S. crude declining more harshly than Brent late in the session as traders took profits on the spread difference between two contracts. Brent crude edged $1.23 down on Wednesday to settle at $107.19 a barrel. U.S. WTI crude lost $1.84 to settle at $105.39, after closing 29 cents higher. Brent's premium to U.S. oil futures diminished to 56 cents in early European trade, then broadened in the U.S. afternoon, settling at $1.80.

Daily: Coal prices increase on Colombian miners’ strike
Brent crude oil futures increased on Friday, hitting a nine-month high during session on optimistic Chinese economic and oil import data, registering a 1.8 percent gain for the week. Meanwhile, Brent March crude boosted $1.66, or 1.42 percent, to settle at $118.90 a barrel, having traded from $117.31 to $119.17.
