IEA: an increase of US shale gas prices could provoke a return to coal

According to a report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the production of energy from coal is little by little regaining market share from natural gas-fired power generation. IEA: Coal demand will continue to grow in the next years to come

According to a new report recently released by the International Energy Agency (IEA) coal could become the world's top energy source by 2017 along with oil. Daily: Crude oil prices fall on IEA forecast

Crude oil prices settled down on Thursday after the International Energy Agency (IEA) slashed its forecast for energy demand growth this year for the third consecutive month. However, Brent prices dropped more sharply than U.S. crude, reducing the spread between Brent and U.S. West Texas Intermediate to a nine-month low of $10.59 at one point on Thursday, before settling at $10.76.
