Bulgaria to build another nuclear power plant
Bulgaria's Government has approved the report presented by the Energy Minister Dragomir Stoynev, regarding the need to build a new unit at the country's only nuclear power plant, Kozloduy NPP. The Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) intends to negotiate with US energy giant Westinghouse, which is to build the reactor with its technology.

The U.S to become the world’s largest producer of oil and gas
According to a Wall Street Journal analysis, the United States will become the world's largest producer of oil and natural gas by the end of 2017 surpassing Russia. This could happen thanks to a boost in US fuel production determined by technology which will allow energy companies to tap into oil and gas in underground shale rock formations.

ABB and Eni signed a $40 million contract for export terminal on Ionian Sea
Switzerland-based power and automation technology group ABB has signed a contract with the Italian Energy Company Eni, to extend the export terminal of Eni's refinery in Taranto, located in the 'Mar Grande' bay on the Ionian Sea in southern Italy. The contract between ABB and the multinational Italian oil and gas company, is part of Eni’s strategy to improve its refinery infrastructure and ensure a connection with the onshore Tempa Rossa oil plant.

CCS: the solution to reduce CO2 emissions
The CCS technology consists of capturing the CO2 from burning fossil fuels and storing it in deep geological formations, this way it will not boost the greenhouse gases. Technology exists to capture the emissions of factories and other industrial processes such as natural gas processing as well as power plants that burn fossil fuels or even biomass.
