Iraqi cabinet approved raw gas agreement
Recently, the Iraqi Government confirmed an agreement with Mitsubishi Corporation and Royal Dutch Shell creating a joint venture, called Basrah Gas Company (BGC) for gathering raw gas from three large oil fields, Rumaila, Zubair, West Qurna 1 and Majnoon situated in the southern part of the country. This is an important move toward reducing greenhouse-gas emissions, building a reliable energy supply and attracting more investments in the country.

Royal Dutch Shell doubles its profit on higher oil prices
The British energy major, Shell reported that its net profits doubled to $7.03 billion in the third quarter from $3.5 billion a year earlier due to higher oil prices, soared oil demand and stronger refining margins.

Dong Energy to gain territory on the UK gas market
The Danish energy giant DONG Energy signed an agreement with Shell Gas Direct, a branch of the energy group Royal Dutch Shell which provides the purchase of Shell’s industrial and commercial gas business in the UK, for £30 million.
