Switzerland launches new feed-in tariffs taking effect on March 1

At the beginning of February, Switzerland’s Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications announced the new feed-in tariffs for renewable energy considering steadily changing costs. The new feed-in tariffs for photovoltaics, wind power and biomass from timber came into force on March 1, 2012. PV power will receive lower feed-in tariffs by 10 percent. Wind power feed-in tariffs were tweaked, while woody biomass power will benefit of slightly higher FITs. Other technologies will get the same feed-in tariffs.

UK to cut its 2030 renewable energy target

Some experts consider UK could miss its renewable energy target, fact that presses the government to reduce its 2030 renewable target. The new released reports show that country’s energy sector suffered a disappointment with certain feed-in tariffs being attacked. Besides that, the government is planning nuclear energy to give parity across Europe. It could threaten investment climate in the renewable industry, but support the development of nuclear power in Britain.

UK: Industry bodies welcome move to boost micro CHP feed in tariff

The climate change minister Greg Barker has pledged to increase the feed-in tariff subsidies to micro-combined heat and power (CHP) systems installed in homes and examine other regulatory options to increase uptake of the technology in UK properties.

CRE: Electricity tariffs in France expected to increase by 30% in 2016

Regulatory Commission of Energy (CRE) announced in January 2012 that the regulated electricity tariffs distributed by EDF could increase by 30% by 2016, about 6% by year.
