Germany sets a new solar PV power record since January to September

German production output from solar generation climbed nearly to 51% year-on-year since January to September, being backed by increased photovoltaic installation activity and a high number of sunshine hours, according to data released by the German Association of Energy and water Industries (BDEW).

Germany adds about 1 GW of new PV installations, despite tariff cuts

The Federal Network Agency of Germany has released the latest data regarding the photovoltaic installations for the month of September, according to which newly installed photovoltaic systems reached 980.83 MW in September, almost three times as much as was added in August (329 MW).

UK solar installations reached 1.3 GW due to drastic cuts in FiT

The Department of Energy and Climate Change has released new figures according to which a total capacity of 1.3 GW of solar installations was installed nationally at the end of September 2012. The severe cuts in feed-in tariffs for solar power in the UK reduced installations by almost 60 % in April, leaving the government far behind from its goal of 22 GW of PV by 2020.

GSE: Italy hits 15.9GW of cumulative PV capacity

Italy has installed a cumulative photovoltaic capacity of 15.9GW from its 448, 226 PV plants currently in operation at an annual cost of EUR 6.39 billion (USD 8.27 billion), as of October 12th, 2012, according to the Italian network agency, GSE.

Solarstrom to build 440MW of solar generation capacity

Solarstrom ( SAG), a German developer of renewables, intends to build 4 solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in western Spain ,in the Extremadura region, totaling 440 MW. The four projects will be built by a joint-venture, which includes Valsolar, in which Solarstrom holds a 51% share.
