Daily: European spot power prices deviate, widening the spread between contracts
Brent crude oil prices declined on Monday, but the losses were capped after traders started to purchase contracts to offset the spread between the European benchmark and its U.S. counterpart, West Texas Intermediate. Brent slipped 36 cents to settle at $106.04 a barrel, after declining during the session to a near three-month low of $105.40.

Daily: British prompt gas prices decline on higher temperature forecasts
Crude oil settled higher on Friday, reversing two days of losses, as traders purchased contracts to cover short positions ahead of the weekend and reports of production issues at a major oil field in the UK kept supply concerns.

Gazprom increased its gas supplies to Europe
Last year, Gazprom increased by 16 % the supply of natural gas to Europe to 161.5 billion cubic meters, with Germany, Italy and the U.K. ledding the increase in gas imports from Russia. European customers such as Germany’s RWE AG and Italy’s Eni SpA obtained lower gas prices under their long-term supply contracts with Gazprom. Supplies to Italy increased by more than 60 %.
