Daily: German spot power prices sag on hurricane-force winds in northern Europe

Brent crude oil futures dropped, while U.S. crude oil futures climbed for a fifth consecutive session on Thursday, narrowing the spread between the two benchmarks contracts to a two-week low as optimistic U.S. economic data suggested an increase of demand for oil in the world's largest consumer.

Daily: British day-ahead gas at the highest level since April on Norwegian production outage

Brent crude futures climbed to a 10-week high on Monday, buoyed by strong manufacturing data from China and the United States, and concerns about supplies of Russian crude. Brent crude for January traded $1.76 higher to settle at $111.45 a barrel, after touching a session high of $112.34. Meanwhile, U.S. crude increased $1.10 to settle at $93.82 a barrel. The spread between the two contracts closed at $17.63, after having fluctuating over $2 between $16.22 and $18.44 during the session.

Daily: German, French power contracts diverge at 11.50 euro gap

Brent crude oil boosted by more than $1 a barrel on Wednesday after an American official said it would be "very hard" to reach a nuclear agreement with Iran this week. U.S. oil prices dropped late in session after the U.S. Federal Reserve suggested it may increase its monetary stimulus program, a move that could hit oil demand.

Daily: European prompt power soars on higher demand expectations

U.S. crude oil prices closed higher on Monday as traders purchased contracts to cover short positions ahead of a possible deal between U.S. political parties over how to fund the government. U.S. oil closed 39 cents higher at $102.41 a barrel, after trading as low as $101.06, while Brent crude futures ended 24 cents lower at $111.04, after dropping to $109.87.
