Nine offshore wind energy developers join forces to slash levelised cost of energy

Nine of the largest offshore wind developers in Europe: DONG Energy, EnBW, E.ON, Iberdrola, RWE, SSE, Statkraft, Statoil and Vattenfall have joined forces with independent company Carbon Trust to work on collaborative research, development and demonstration (RD&D) programme - the Offshore Wind Accelerator (OWA) in order to slash the levelised cost of energy from offshore wind, improve efficiency and availability of existing and future offshore wind farms.

EnBW will intensify cost cutting, reduce hundreds of jobs

German utility EnBW declared on Tuesday it would accelerate cost-cutting measures to save an extra 250 million euros ($280 million) by 2020, since it struggles with decreasing electricity prices and the cost of phasing-out nuclear power.

Germany's EnBW increases German retail electricity prices next year

Germany's third-largest utility EnBW declared on Monday it will increase retail power prices for the majority of the customers by 2.4 percent from Jan. 1, 2016, quoting higher network charges and a rising share of state-induced charges.
