SunPower will add 40 MW capacity to California Valley Solar Ranch

SunPower agreed with Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) to add 40 MW of capacity to Sun Power’s existing contract with PG&E for 210 MW, executed in August 2008, as to develop a 250 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in San Luis Obispo County, CA.

France and Italy impose carbon tariffs

French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi asked the European Union to impose carbon tariffs on the countries which are not part of a global agreement to reduce greenhouse gases, an idea which was not approved by other EU members.
