French developer EDF Energies Nouvelles has commissioned the 23.4 MW Santa Luce wind farm in the province of Pisa, in Italy. The Santa Luce wind farm comprises 13 turbines supplied by Vestas, each with a unit capacity of 1.8 MW. The wind farm's location boasts highly favorable wind conditions.

EDF Energies Nouvelles to acquire the wind energy portfolio of Séchilienne Sidec in France

EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF EN) has bought the wind energy portfolio for a total of 56.5MW from the independent energy producer Séchilienne-Sidec. The deal is part of Sechilienne- Sidec’s drive to focus on biomass and solar power generation. UK: Centrica abandons plans to build new nuclear power plants

Centrica has announced that it intends to abandon plans to build new nuclear power stations in the UK because of the rising costs following changes to regulations after the Fukushima disaster in 2011. Centrica had been planning to build four plants with the French supplier EDF, but has now pulled out of the partnership.
