Britain is considering keeping some coal plants available for back-up power to ensure sufficient electricity supplies for next winter, National Grid said on Wednesday but plant operators said they are unlikely to be able to meet the request.

Daily (09.02.2023): British gas prices tumbled on Wednesday amid predictions of warmer temperatures and healthy LNG supplies
Oil prices had a bullish evolution on Wednesday due to expectations that China's increased consumption of crude oil will further tighten the supply-demand balance in the market. Consequently, Brent crude rose by 1.7% to $85.09 a barrel and WTI oil increased by 1.7% to $78.47 a barrel.
