Portugal ranked 4th for renewable energy in Europe
According to the most recent figures of the Portuguese Association for Renewable Energies (Apren), in the month of August, Portugal produced 46.8% of its electricity from renewable power sources, earning for itself a fifth place in Europe and forth, if the cumulative energy stock for 2022 is counted. Portugal, in 2022, was able to produce 54.6% of its energy from renewables. This result is lower than Norway, Austria and Denmark which reach respectively 99%, 80% and 77%.

Portugal to let households move to cheaper regulated gas tariffs
Portugal's government will allow households and small businesses that buy natural gas in the liberalised market to move to regulated tariffs and avoid huge price increases announced by utility companies, the energy minister said on Thursday.

Spain, Portugal to approve gas price cap on Tuesday
The governments of Portugal and Spain will decree on Tuesday the introduction of a Brussels-backed temporary cap on reference prices of natural gas and coal used by power plants, Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa said on Monday.
