Daily (22.06.2023): European carbon prices recorded their biggest intraday decline in three months

Oil prices gained momentum on Wednesday, ahead of weekly data on US crude inventories. Unshaken by the Fed chairman's comments on further U.S. interest rate hikes, WTI crude rose by around 2% to settle at $72.53/barrel, while Brent crude ended at $77.12/barrel, posting a 1.6% day-on-day gain.

Daily (08.06.2023): European carbon prices soared on Wednesday, impacted by a record build in speculative short positions

Oil prices moved higher on Wednesday as Saudi Arabia's surprise production cuts outweighed weak Chinese export data and rising US fuel inventories. Brent crude gained 0.9%, or $0.66, to settle at $76.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, WTI crude traded up by 1.1%, or $0.79, closing at $72.53 a barrel.

Spain On Track To Generate 50% Of Its Power From Renewables In 2023

Spain is on track to generate more than half of its power from renewable sources this year, the first of the top five European countries by power demand to accomplish this feat, according to Rystad Energy forecasts. Spain will reach this significant decarbonization milestone this year, with renewable-sourced generation surpassing the 50% average in 2023, beating France, Germany, Italy and the UK to this record.
