Daily (20.02.2020): Oil prices soared by more than 2% due to U.S. sanctions on Rosneft, tensions in Libya, coronavirus cases receding

Oil prices soared by more than 2% on Wednesday, supported by a slowdown in the spread of the coronavirus, U.S. sanctions against the Russian black gold giant Rosneft and the unrest in Libya. Brent crude for April delivery rose by $1.37, or 2.4% to settle at $59.12 a barrel. U.S. WTI crude ended at $53.29, gaining $1.24, or 2.4%.

Rosneft increases its share in Bayernoil refinery

Rosneft Deutschland, a subsidiary of Russian oil giant, has completed the deal to acquire a 3.57% stake in Bayernoil Raffineriegesellschaft from British BP, Rosneft said on 17 January, adding that as result of this deal, Rosneft increased its shareholding to 28.57% from 25%.

Norway and Russia to invest in oil and gas project in Siberia

Norwegian state oil company Equinor and Russia's Rosneft will invest in the first stage of the development of North Komsomolskoy, a conventional oil and gas field in western Siberia, it was reported here.
