European LNG consumption to peak in 2025

LNG demand in the EU, the UK, Turkey and Norway will peak in 2025 at 169bcm and drop to 133bcm by 2030, the Institute of Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) said on Wednesday.

Daily (12.05.2023): Oil prices dropped by about 2% on Thursday, undermined by the prospect of renewed Iraqi Kurdish oil exports to Turkey

Oil prices continued losing ground on Thursday, weighed down by the prospect of resumption of Iraqi Kurdish oil exports to Turkey, as well as by a worrying macroeconomic outlook. Thus, Brent crude declined by about 2% to settle at $74.98 a barrel. WTI crude dropped by around 2.3% to $70.87 a barrel.

Daily (29.03.2023): Escalating concerns about French nuclear availability lent support to British forward gas prices on Tuesday

Oil prices gained ground on Tuesday, supported by renewed risk appetite among investors and the halt of oil imports from Iraqi Kurdistan by Turkey (around 450,000 barrels per day). Thus, Brent crude edged 0.7% higher to settle at $78.65 a barrel, while WTI crude added 0.5% to end at $73.20 a barrel.

Daily (08.02.2023): European spot electricity prices fell on Tuesday amid strong wind generation.

Oil prices rose for the second consecutive day on Tuesday, partly due to the closure of a Turkish export terminal following the earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria on Monday. However, the main driver of the increase was expectations of a recovery in Chinese demand. As a result, Brent crude increased by 3% to $83.69 a barrel and WTI oil rose by 4% to $77.14 a barrel.

Bulgaria signs long-term gas deal with Turkey

Bulgaria's state gas company Bulgargaz on Tuesday signed a long-term deal with Turkish state gas firm Botas, giving it access to neighbouring Turkey's gas network and liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals to help bring in supplies.
