Daily: European power prices increased due to low temperatures

Oil prices have seen yesterday a slight decrease due to a stronger dollar, while crude futures registered a fourth straight monthly gain on the investors thought that the global surplus insignificantly reduced. Brent crude futures for July was down 7 cents settling at $49.69 a barrel, meanwhile U.S. crude futures dropped by 23 cents, attaining $49.10 a barrel.

Daily: Brent nears $50 a barrel ahead of OPEC producer meeting

Crude oil prices rose toward $50 a barrel on Monday, although uncertainty ahead of an OPEC producer-meeting later in the week was expected to curb gains. Brent crude futures boosted 44 cents to settle at $49.76 a barrel, reversing losses from earlier in the day. There was no settlement in U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures because of the U.S. Memorial Day holiday, but at 18:39 GMT, WTI edged 27 cents up at $49.60.
