Online search giant Google said on Tuesday it would invest 1 billion euros ($1.2 billion) in Germany through 2030 to expand its datacenter operations and secure renewable power supplies to run them.

UK’s hopes of boosting hydrogen trade hobbled by Brexit

Defuelling completed at Leningrad 1
Decommissioning of the RBMK reactor at Leningrad 1 has reached a milestone with the removal of all fuel from the reactor core. Rosenergoatom plans to use some of the fuel in the two RBMK reactors which remain in operation at the Leningrad site.

Pilot project to extract lithium at Bruchsal geothermal plant, Germany
Lithium for 20,000 car batteries is to be extracted in Bruchsal, according to the goal of the project partners energy utility EnBW and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology KIT , as reported by local news station SWR. The prototype is scheduled to go into operation at the Bruchsal site at the end of the year. Then it should be checked whether what has already been successfully tested in the laboratory also works in practice. The prototype should run for over a year. We previously reported on the plans.

Longroad locks term financing for 200-MW solar park in Arizona
US-based Longroad Energy Holdings LLC has achieved commercial operations at its 200-MW DC Sun Streams 2 solar park in Arizona and finalised term financing for the asset, the renewables developer said on Tuesday.
