Daily (12.04.2022): Brent crude fell below $100 a barrel on Monday amid Covid outbreak in China
Crude oil prices fell on Monday, with Brent slipping below $100 a barrel as the Covid outbreak reached record levels in China, raising concerns about oil demand. Hence, Brent crude dropped by $4.30, or 4.2%, to settle at $98.48 a barrel, its lowest close since March 16. WTI crude fell by $3.97, or 4.0%, to settle at $94.29 a barrel.

Daily (07.02.2022): German and French forward power contracts jumped by more than 4% on Friday, on record high CO2 prices and bullish gas markets
Crude oil prices ended higher on Friday, on worries about the continued Ukrainian crisis and insufficient production from OPEC members. Moreover, a winter storm that hit the US, impacting production and supply, also boosted prices. As such, Brent oil rose by 2.4% to $93.27 a barrel and WTI crude gained 2.3% at $92.31 a barrel.

Emissions set to rise with global power demand
Global electricity demand over the next few years is set to slow after a record 2021 but will still result in higher carbon emissions without rapid gains in low-carbon supply and energy efficiency, the International Energy Agency (IEA) said on Friday.

Daily (13.01.2021): Gas prices were bearish on Wednesday, as ample LNG supply offset winter storage concerns
Crude oil prices continued to strengthen on Wednesday, on the back of a sharp drop in US crude reserves, to the point of approaching multi-year records set last October. Hence, Brent oil gained 1.1% at $84.67 a barrel and WTI crude rose by 1.8% to $82.64 a barrel.

European wind power set for record Q4 as stormy year-end offsets pre-Christmas lull
Wind power generation across Europe was set for a record fourth quarter with a stormy end to 2021 helping to offset a lull before Christmas, with Week 51 wind output at a six-week low, TSO data analyzed by S&P Global Platts showed Dec. 29.
